Dandelion Syrup is one way to benefit from what the plant has to offer. In order to make the dandelion syrup, you use the flower. Like the bees, the pollen is what we are after. If you are looking for more information in regards to the benefits of Dandelions, you can check out my post here.
When foraging for dandelion flowers you want to collect them when they are fully open. The best time for this is in the mornings on a sunny day. Any other time they will have closed up shop and you won't know which ones are fresh and which ones have already opened.
Next, you will need to have some sort of basket, bowl or small bucket to collect your flowers with. The easiest way to collect them is to put the flower in between your pointer and your middle finger and pull the flowerhead up.
Once you have what you need, lay them out on a towel and let any bugs walk away. Don't wash the flowers as this will wash away any pollen that is there. Remember this is what we are after just like our little bees.
I have made a video that you can watch to see the process that I use. Below you will also find the recipe that I use in order to make my dandelion syrup.
I have now added this recipe to my Patreon VIP Tier. Please visit my Patreon page to get the recipe sheets.
Until next time, cheers for now.
