So, I decided a few years ago to make my own ice tea. Now I'm not sure exactly where I got this recipe from. I do know that I've tweaked it so that it's not too sweet and not too sour from the lemons. I found certain black teas will give you either a better flavour or more of a bite. Anyways have a try and see what you think.
Ok, so what you need is water, tea bags, lemons, and sugar. Pretty simple recipe but oh so good, and really how can you go wrong as to how inexpensive it is.
15 cups water
5 tea bags
2 lemons or 6 tablespoons of concentrated lemon juice
1 1/2 cups sugar
Get a big pot, big enough to hold 15 cups of water. Bring the water to a boil. Once the water has boiled take it off the heat and steep the 5 bags of tea for 30 mins. Now I have found Lipton ice tea makes a really good tea but you can use any black tea you like.
Remove the tea bags and add your sugar and your lemon juice. Stir until all the sugar is dissolved. Pour into a container that will hold all your ice tea. I like to recycle juice containers with screw-on lids. Let stand on the counter until cooled and then refrigerate. I'm not even sure how long this will keep as it doesn't last in my fridge very long lol.
Enjoy!
