I came across a spice mix that I've used for some time now. I just love it and my husband can't seem to get enough of it...lol. I like making a big batch of it and putting it into a jar so it stays fresh. He puts it on just about everything and frankly why not. It's awesome and works with a lot of different foods...eggs, chicken, pork loin, Ceaser rim, and I even use it in a homemade BBQ sauce.
Here are the ingredients:
3/4 cup Brown Sugar (homemade)
1/4 cup salt
1/4 cup paprika (sweet)
1/4 cup paprika (Spanish)
2 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon celery salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon dry sage
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon ground mace
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix together. Pour into a jar and seal until ready to use. There are all sorts of variations of this recipe but this is what I put together.
Cheers for now.
