Personal Hygiene Wipes can be very expensive and if you have ever read the label, I don't know about you but I don't have a clue what half of that stuff is. Which is concerning to me.
Now I've been making quite a few of my own everyday items for a few years now. Everything from hairspray to personal hygiene wipes. Some of my friends have been very surprised that you can make your own everyday items. I think it's because we are so conditioned to just go to the store, buy what we need over and over again, and not think twice about what it cost us in the long run, or how it affects us. These same friends have asked me about the personal hygiene wipes that I make and so I thought I would share with you this recipe as well.
What I love about these wipes is that they are made from natural ingredients and are much better for you than the store-bought wipes, they also will cost you much less as well.....AND I can pronoun all the ingredients, in my books, that's a bonus.
The great thing about this recipe is that you need very little amounts of the following ingredients for it to work well. Once you have all the ingredients you can make them as you need them in a short amount of time.
If you are new to making your own products, you also have the option of using essential oils if you chose to do so. The whole idea is to save money, not to break the bank. The wipes will do the trick and smell great even without. Lavender and lemon essential oils are two of the cheaps to buy and yet two of the oils you are most likely to use in other recipes.
Benefits of the Ingredients
Boiled or Distilled Water |
You want to use boiled or distilled water. Using any other type of water you are inviting mould and bacteria into the mix. So always use either boiled or distilled water and never straight tap or spring water. |
Castile Soap |
Castile soap is a vegetable-based soap that is chemical-free and doesn’t have any synthetic ingredients or animal fat. The soap is known to be made from a number of plant-based oils such as hemp, coconut, avocado, walnut, and almond. |
Almond Oil |
Sweet almond oil is commonly used as a carrier oil because it contains antioxidants and helps to keep your skin nice and soft. It is safe for sensitive skin because it is non-irritating and light. |

Aloe Vera contains antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E — plus vitamin B12, and folic acid. Aloe Vera gel has a protective effect against radiation damage to the skin. |
Witch Hazel |
Witch Hazel has astringent properties, and it’s one of the most effective natural treatments. Witch hazel acts as a haemorrhoid home remedy. You can apply witch hazel water to the skin to help lower pain and inflammation caused by uncomfortable haemorrhoids. It’s useful for relieving itching, irritation, bleeding, and burning from haemorrhoids as well. |
Essential Oils |
Lavender is one of the gentlest oils, making it a great option for beginners, and it’s versatile. It has antioxidant protection and it helps as a natural pain killer.
Frankincense benefits include the ability to strengthen skin and improve its tone, elasticity, defence mechanisms against bacteria or blemishes, and appearance as someone ages. Lemon is best known for its ability to cleanse toxins from the body, and it’s widely used to stimulate lymphatic drainage, rejuvenate energy, purify skin, and fight bacteria and fungi. |
